De Ruijter Gives Back

Cele was born and raised in a remote area of Panama, in the tiny village of Quije (pronounced "Key-Hay"). Every year he returns to his hometown to visit family and friends. With the help of De Ruijter USA and his generous co-workers, this year's trip was extra-special.

De Ruijter employees scoured their closets and packed up gently used garments and shoes, ranging in all types and sizes. In no time at all, a large crate was filled and on its way to Panama to await Cele's arrival.

When Cele arrived in Quije, he quickly became a local hero, as he set up a "shop" where local residents could come by and choose items from the crate. The crowd filed in, waited for their turn and headed home with some new clothes and a smile on their face.

Upon his return to work, Cele shared the experience through a very touching and eye-opening video. It is a wonderful thing to see such a small act on our end turn into a very appreciative and rewarding benefit for someone in need.
